Shaykh 'Abd Ar-Razzāq Al-Bādr حفظه الله said:
“Among the most beautiful proofs of Islam's honor towards Muslim women, the fact that jealousy towards maharims is rooted in the hearts of Muslim men.
It is a great character, and an honorable trait, based in the heart of the Muslim man pushing him to take care of those for whom he is the mahram and to watch over them, take care of their honor, their dignity, prevent them from tabarruj, to reveal oneself and diversity.
Islam considers the preservation of honor, and jealousy towards those whose man is mahram as a jihad from which it is possible that blood results from it, that martyrdom results from it, and that its author is rewarded with rank martyr in paradise.
Sa'ïd Ibn Zāyd رضي الله عنه said:
"I heard the Prophet ﷺ say:
“He who is killed defending his money is a martyr, he who is killed defending his blood is a martyr, he who is killed defending his religion is a martyr, he who is killed defending his family is a martyr.”
And in another story: “And he who died defending his honor is a martyr.”
Islam even counts jealousy among the true values of the faith.”
