Ibn Al-Jāwzi رحمه الله said:
"It is fitting for a woman to take care not to leave her home, as far as she can, because even if she does not fear for herself, people will not be spared the temptation she arouses.
So if she is forced to leave her house, let her do so with her husband's permission, dressed humbly, taking deserted paths, avoiding crowded alleys, markets, avoiding having her voice heard, and walking on the edge and not in the middle of the road."
